Terebridae 筍螺科Shell slender, turreted, with many whorls, frequently with subsutural spiral grooves or riblets and axial ribs which develop into neither spines nor varices. Colorations variable and mostly glossy. Aperture small with developed fasciole, without umbilicus. Outer lip not thickened, smooth inside. Columella twised. Operculum oval, with nucleus situated below. Radula lacking or with only marginals. Diverse in shallow water sand bottom in tropical waters. Carnivorous.
