Mesodesmatidae 尖峰蛤科：Shell small to medium, cuneiform, thick, more or less compressed. Outer surface smooth except for growth striae. Ligament parivincular, resilium placed between anterior and posterior cardinal teeth. Hinge teeth with 2 cardinal teeth and anterior and posterior lateral teeth. Dimyarian. Pallial sinus small, shallow. Inner ventral margin smooth.
