Planaxidae 芝麻螺科：Shell minute to small, conical, aperture round with a shallow siphonal canal. Females protect embryos in the cephalic broodpouch. The family comprises 2 subfamilies; Planaxinae characterized by small, slightly elongate shell without umbilicus, and Fossarinae by minute, turbinate shell with a wide umbilicus.
