Pleuroceridae 川蜷科:Shell turreted, and thick, with many whorls. Surface typically sculptured with many narrow spiral ribs and thick axial ribs. Aperture semicircular with a distinct siphonal canal. Operculum circular, multispiral. This group had been formerly allocated in the Potamididae, and separated as a distinct family based on the differences of sperm and radula morphology, and structure of the female reproductive system. |
