Melongenidae 香螺科:Shell medium to large in size, elongate fusiform. Shoulder usually with low nodules of spinous tubercles. Surface covered by velvety periostracum. Aperture spacious, with open anterior canal. Columellar lip lacks fold. Outer lip not thickened. Operculum oval, with terminal nucleus. Central tooth of radula with 3 cusps, lateral with 2 large cusps. Only Hemifusus occurs in Japan. |
